New Delhi: US President Donald Trump's tariffs have created a stir in the whole world. Amidst the threat of tariffs, the discussion on crude oil has gained momentum. Let's say there is a new twist in the tariff story. India and China are behind this twist. Actually, Trump is threatening India and China not to buy oil from Russia. He wants these two countries to import oil only from America and its allies. But both the superpowers of Asia have made it clear that they will not back down from fulfilling the energy priorities of the nation. And both the countries are continuously buying oil from Russia.

Tension increased due to American pressure

US President Donald Trump has openly warned India and China against buying oil from Russia. He says that if these two Asian powers continue to supply oil, then strict economic sanctions will be imposed on them. After this warning, there has been a stir in the global market. There is a danger of increase in the prices of crude oil. Trump wants Asian countries to buy oil only from America and its allies.

Strong response from India and China

Both India and China have made it clear that their energy policy will not be influenced by any foreign pressure. Officials from both countries reiterated that their priority is to ensure stable and affordable energy supply for their citizens and industries. India also said that it will continue to import oil from Russia. China even said that its strategic interests are above any international pressure.

Increased expectations for Russia

Russia, which is already facing sanctions from Western countries, is finding this situation beneficial for itself. Russia is getting economic relief due to the continuous purchases from India and China. This is giving Russia a chance to handle its economy despite Western pressure. Russian officials believe that this support from Asian countries will strengthen the energy partnership in the long run.

Fears of a global energy war

Experts say that if America takes strict action against India and China, then there can be a big crisis in the energy market. Due to disruption in oil supply, prices have skyrocketed.
